Messengers from Beyond: How Autistic Children Are Redefining Reality
Recent evidence that has come across my path has me convinced not only are autistic individuals not disabled. It’s more likely they are ultra-abled. They have abilities that go beyond the limits of the imaginations of many of us.
Scientists dislike the word “proof.” They say it is reserved for logic and liquor. Setting that aside, what if the key to proving that consciousness transcends the brain lies with those communicating without words? Sometimes, the universe aligns in ways that force us to look closer. Three remarkable conversations opened my eyes to a profound truth about consciousness.
I recently interviewed two extraordinary mothers, Gina Gayle Gray and Laura Hirsch, and a dedicated teacher, Jes Kerzen. They each came to me in different ways but around the same time. Each of them shared incredible stories about autistic children—children who are non-verbal, minimally verbal, or considered unreliable in traditional forms of communication. What they revealed was nothing short of astonishing. These children can connect with animals, other autistic individuals, and even—incredibly—with those who have passed away. This new (to me) body of evidence is as exciting as studying near-death experiences when it comes to proving that our minds are not in our brains and the survival of consciousness after death.
For links to those interviews on YouTube, see below
At first, these stories seemed almost too extraordinary to believe. But then, a synchronicity occurred. While listening to Alex Tsakiris’ Skeptiko podcast, I stumbled upon the Event Horizon podcast. From there, I discovered “The Telepathy Tapes” podcast and website. It felt as if the universe was guiding me, one step at a time, to uncover deeper insights into the nature of consciousness.
This synchronicity wasn’t just a coincidence—it was a nudge to explore. These conversations and the insights they revealed started connecting like pieces of a larger puzzle. The extraordinary abilities of these autistic people weren’t just anecdotal—they were proof of something far more significant: consciousness is not confined to the brain. It exists beyond, interconnected, and expansive, waiting for us to recognize it. I think this may be the key that leads to a revolution in how we view the world and our roles in it. In this article, I’ll share why I’m so excited about this.

Further Exploration into Consciousness and Autism
The Telepathy Tapes
What sealed the deal for me was when I started listening to The Telepathy Tapes. The Telepathy Tapes is a documentary podcast hosted by Ky Dickens that delves into the extraordinary abilities of non-speaking individuals with autism, focusing on their telepathic and otherworldly perceptions. The series challenges conventional understandings of communication and consciousness, presenting emotional stories and compelling evidence that invite listeners to reconsider the boundaries of human connection.
Throughout the series, Dickens collaborates with neuroscientist Dr. Diane Hennacy Powell, traveling globally to conduct telepathy tests and engage intimately with families who have experienced these phenomena firsthand. The podcast features interviews with experts like Dr. Rupert Sheldrake and Dr. Dean Radin, exploring scientific research on telepathy and its implications for our understanding of consciousness.
As of December 2024, the podcast has released ten episodes, covering topics such as:
Telepathy among friends and groups
The hidden world of telepathic communication in non-speaking communities
Scientific evidence for extrasensory perception (ESP)
The experiences of educators witnessing telepathy in autistic students
Telepathy across dimensions and its implications for understanding consciousness
The Science of Consciousness Beyond the Brain
Even though I’m a skeptic by nature and highly rational, I’m sick of the paradigm that says that anything that doesn’t fall into the materialistic paradigm has to be proven, time and time again, and even then, is rejected by the mainstream.
What I am about to tell you, thousands of people have experienced and know it to be true, regardless of whether it has been replicated in controlled settings. But, yes, there is science to back this up.
As it turns out, personal anecdotes and a growing body of scientific research support the idea that consciousness exists beyond the brain.
ESP Studies: The Frontier of Consciousness Research
Even though the study of psi phenomenon can be a career killer and isn’t well funded, Scientists like Dr. Dean Radin have been studying extrasensory perception (ESP) for decades, achieving results that defy chance. Psi is the unknown factor in extrasensory perception and psychokinesis experiences that is not explained by known physical or biological mechanisms.
In controlled experiments, participants have demonstrated the ability to perceive information without using their physical senses—a phenomenon that challenges the materialist view of the mind. Radin’s studies, which sometimes achieve six-sigma results (indicating odds against chance of over a billion to one), suggest that consciousness may operate in ways we don’t fully understand.
In many ESP experiments, the effects are subtle, requiring statistical expertise to interpret patterns that deviate from chance. While scientifically significant, these effects often feel abstract to a layperson, making ESP seem weak at best.
In contrast, the results from these autistics’ experiments are so striking that no specialized knowledge is required to appreciate them. Their astounding accuracy in producing specific, verifiable information makes the outcomes undeniable, offering compelling evidence accessible to all observers. This is one reason I believe they could literally change the world’s view of itself.
I don’t want to overwhelm you with the math. But I want you to have a feel for how phenomenal these experiments are. In some of the tests conducted by Dr. Diane Powell, an autistic young man, Houston correctly named Uno cards, one after the other, getting the number, then the color, then the color, and the number correct over and over. Here are the odds of getting just four cards in a row correct.
Try This
Sit down with a deck of cards, draw a card, and without looking at the card, guess the card. Did you get it wrong? Odds are only 1 in 52, which is less than a 2% chance that you got it right. Let’s say you did get it right. Try getting another card right. The odds drop to less than 0.03%.
Drawing 4 Cards in a Row from a Deck of 52
The probability of correctly guessing one card in a standard deck of 52 cards is 1/52
The probability of guessing 4 cards in a row correctly is less than one in 6 million!
The odds of correctly guessing four cards in a row from a shuffled deck are about 1 in 6 million. This demonstrates how extraordinary precision would be needed to exceed random chance in such a scenario.
Listen to the episode of The Telepathy Tapes where Houston is identifying Uno cards.
You can listen to some of the tests on The Telepathy Tapes podcast for free. Then, you can view them for yourself by visiting the site and paying a one-time fee of $9.99.
The abilities demonstrated by the children take this phenomenon to an entirely new level. These autistics achieve near-perfect accuracy in their telepathic communication, not just identifying numbers or simple patterns but also receiving random words and even fabricated words that were never spoken aloud. This level of precision is off the charts, providing undeniable evidence that goes far beyond statistical anomalies. It suggests that consciousness may operate in ways we don’t fully understand.
Non-Locality and Interconnected Minds
One explanation for these extraordinary abilities lies in the concept of non-local consciousness—the idea that our minds are not confined to our brains but exist as part of a larger, interconnected field. This concept is echoed in quantum physics, where entangled particles remain connected regardless of distance. Could our minds operate similarly? We don’t so much generate thoughts as pull them from the field.
The experiences of these autistics provide compelling evidence for this theory. Their ability to communicate telepathically with other autistics, animals, and even those who have passed away suggests that they are tapping into a shared field of consciousness. This aligns with the work of researchers who propose that the brain does not generate consciousness but is instead fundamental to the universe, much like gravity or electromagnetism.
Consciousness as Primary
If consciousness is primary—a foundational aspect of reality rather than a byproduct of the brain—this would revolutionize science and our understanding of life and death. It would mean that the mind does not die when the body ceases to function and that communication with those who have passed on is not only possible but natural.
Materialist explanations, which attribute consciousness entirely to brain activity, fail to account for this growing phenomenon. The extraordinary precision demonstrated by these autistic children—receiving not only numbers but random and even fabricated words—defies the traditional view that the brain alone generates consciousness. No materialist model can adequately explain how these children access information beyond sensory perception or communicate telepathically with such accuracy. This raises profound questions about the limits of the materialist framework and demands that we explore alternative paradigms that place consciousness at the center of our understanding of reality.
The stories from Gina, Laura, and Jes, combined with the scientific findings from ESP research, challenge us to reconsider our assumptions about the nature of reality. They invite us to explore the possibility that consciousness is far more expansive, interconnected, and enduring than we have ever imagined.
Implications for Science and Humanity
Savant Abilities and Telepathy
The concept of savant abilities has long fascinated scientists and the public alike. Savants are individuals who demonstrate exceptional capabilities in specific areas, such as mathematics, music, or art, often without formal training. For example, some savants can perform complex mathematical calculations instantly or play the piano flawlessly despite never having taken a lesson. Dr. Diane Powell, a neuroscientist and researcher, suggests that telepathy should be considered another form of savant ability that has been overlooked and underappreciated.
The children exhibit telepathic capabilities that rival traditional savant abilities. They can perceive and communicate information in ways that defy materialist explanations. For instance, some of these children have been documented spelling out words they were never taught, including complex or fabricated terms. Others can communicate fluently in languages they have never studied. These feats suggest that their minds tap into a shared field of consciousness or access information in ways science has yet to comprehend.
Redefining Intelligence and Education
These discoveries compel us to rethink what it means to be "intelligent." One of the profound ironies of these children’s abilities is how they must rely on a slow and painstaking process—spelling to communicate (S2C)—to share their ideas. While spelling each letter is remarkable, it is cumbersome compared to how most of us convey thoughts through speech.
It occurred to me that this process mirrors the broader relationship between words and ideas: letters form words, just as words convey ideas. We often struggle to string words together to convey exactly what we mean. Telepathy, by contrast, bypasses these intermediary steps entirely, communicating concepts, emotions, and ideas directly.
These austistics can communicate in a way we struggle to fathom. It’s ironic and a little bit cruel that they have to painstakingly spell to get the information to us. One lesson for us may be that we need to learn (or relearn) telepathy and move beyond our primitive system of forming words with our mouths.
Meeting On “The Hill”
Autistic people frequently describe meeting on "the hill," a shared mental space where they interact telepathically. Despite living miles apart and having never met physically, they refer to one another as best friends. This phenomenon highlights the interconnected nature of their consciousnesses, suggesting that physical proximity is not a requirement for meaningful relationships. Their ability to bond and communicate so deeply without traditional interaction challenges our understanding of friendship, community, and the boundaries of human connection.
One of the children even remarked, "Where I am from, no one communicates by speaking." This statement offers a profound glimpse into a different mode of existence, one where communication is instantaneous and unencumbered bylanguage's limitationse. It underscores the possibility that telepathy may not be an extraordinary phenomenon but a more natural form of communication that we have forgotten or lost touch with. Their experiences challenge us to consider what we might gain by exploring and developing these innate human capabilities"
Traditional education systems measure intelligence through language, logic, and test-taking skills, often overlooking alternative forms of cognitive and intuitive ability. The capabilities of these children suggest that intelligence is far more diverse and expansive than we have imagined. They also challenge us to consider how we might foster and recognize these abilities in others.
Furthermore, their success in communication through spelling to communicate (S2C) methods reveals the importance of giving every individual the tools to express themselves. While their telepathic and linguistic feats are extraordinary, their achievements also underscore the need for inclusivity in education and the recognition of non-traditional forms of learning.
Implications for Science and Philosophy
If telepathy is accepted as a legitimate form of human capability, it could revolutionize fields ranging from neuroscience to psychology. It would challenge the materialist view that intelligence and communication are confined to the brain and require formal instruction. Instead, it would suggest that the mind is part of a larger, interconnected reality where information is accessible beyond physical senses.
These phenomena also intersect with philosophical questions about the nature of consciousness and the human experience. If the mind can operate independently of formal education or sensory input, what does this say about our understanding of reality? Could telepathy, like musical or mathematical genius, be an innate human ability waiting to be discovered and developed?
A Call to Expand Our Horizons
The stories of these children challenge us to expand our view of human potential and the nature of consciousness itself. By studying their abilities, we can learn not only about the mechanisms of telepathy but also about the broader possibilities of human connection and communication. Dr. Powell’s perspective invites us to consider telepathy as a natural, if rare, phenomenon—one that could hold the key to understanding the depths of the human mind.
These children are not only breaking barriers in communication but also breaking open the limits of what we believe to be possible. They invite us to dream bigger, think broader, and embrace the extraordinary as part of the human experience.
Transforming Our Understanding of Humanity
The extraordinary stories of these autistic children invite us to question not just science and philosophy but also how we approach human connection and societal values. Their abilities are not just an anomaly- freakish one offs; they are a mirror reflecting the deeper potential within all of us, urging a reevaluation of how we view intelligence, spirituality, and the essence of communication itself.
A New Paradigm for Connection
These children demonstrate that connection is not bound by physical proximity or traditional forms of interaction. Their friendships, formed through telepathic meetings on "the hill," redefine what it means to bond with others. This challenges the notion that meaningful relationships require physical presence or verbal communication. Instead, it opens the door to understanding relationships as energetic and deeply spiritual exchanges.
If we take these lessons to heart, society could shift toward embracing a more inclusive and expansive view of connection. It is no longer about what is seen or heard but about what is felt and understood on a deeper, perhaps even universal, level. Such a shift could foster greater empathy and unity, transcending cultural, linguistic, and even physical barriers.
The Spiritual Implications
The remark by one child—"Where I am from, no one communicates by speaking"—hints at a spiritual truth that many mystical traditions have long proposed: that the soul exists in a state of pure understanding and communion. These children’s experiences may be offering a glimpse into this transcendent reality, suggesting that telepathy and direct communication are more natural states of being than we realize.
This has profound implications for how we view our spiritual selves. If communication at its highest form is telepathic and intuitive, it suggests that our current reliance on language might be a limitation rather than an advantage. Their experiences challenge us to explore whether we, too, can cultivate these innate capabilities and what doing so might mean for our spiritual evolution.
Ethical Considerations
Recognizing and nurturing these abilities raises important ethical questions. How do we support them without exploiting them? How do we integrate their gifts into society while respecting their individuality and ensuring their well-being? These questions demand careful thought and compassion as we navigate uncharted territory.
An Invitation to Wonder
Ultimately, these stories remind us of the boundless potential of humanity. They challenge us to dream bigger about what it means to communicate, connect, and understand one another. They invite us to see the extraordinary as not just possible but as a hidden aspect of our shared reality, waiting to be uncovered.
The time has come to listen—not just with our ears but our hearts and minds. These children’s abilities are a call to expand our horizons and to embrace a richer, deeper understanding of what it means to be human.
Could Autistics Act as Mediums?
Among the many extraordinary abilities demonstrated by the children, one question arises that bridges their telepathic capabilities with an age-old mystery: could these children serve as mediums, offering tangible evidence for the survival of consciousness after death?
A Natural Bridge to the Afterlife
Mediumship has long been associated with individuals who can connect with those who have passed on, often conveying messages or evidence that cannot be explained through ordinary means. The children’s telepathic abilities—their capacity to receive information beyond physical senses—make them natural candidates for this role. In fact, their demonstrated accuracy in spelling random or even fabricated words, understanding languages they have not studied, and connecting deeply with others suggests they may already be accessing realms of consciousness beyond the physical.
Evidence Beyond Doubt
The potential for these children to act as mediums lies in their unique ability to provide verifiable details that transcend chance or imagination. Unlike traditional mediumship, which often involves interpreting symbolic or abstract impressions, these children communicate with striking clarity and precision. If they were to relay specific, evidential messages from those who have passed on, their abilities could provide unprecedented proof for the survival of consciousness.
Consider their current successes in telepathic communication. Could this same skill set be applied to communicating with the departed? If so, it would not only validate their telepathic abilities but also open new avenues for understanding what happens after physical death.
A Miracle
In episode 9 of The Telepathy Tapes, a miracle is revealed. I don’t want to spoil the series or the episode for you. So I won’t say too much about it here. Suffice it to say it demonstrates soul planning, a higher purpose for the children, and clearly demonstrates they can and do act as mediums. I was alternately in tears and goosebumps listening to the episode.
Challenges and Opportunities
The idea of these children acting as mediums is both promising and complex. On one hand, it offers an opportunity to bridge the gap between material science and spiritual understanding. On the other, it raises questions about the ethical implications of involving children in such practices. I keep using the word children, because they began displaying their abilities as children. But many of them are adults now.
How do we ensure their well-being while exploring their potential in this capacity? Could this responsibility place undue stress on them, or could it be an empowering way to validate their unique abilities?
A Path Forward
Research and exploration in this area would require a careful and compassionate approach. It would involve:
Controlled Studies: Creating supportive environments where the children can attempt to connect with specific individuals who have passed on, ensuring that all communications are documented and analyzed for evidential content.
Collaboration with Experts: Involving researchers in neuroscience, psychology, and mediumship to guide and interpret these experiments.
Parental and Child Consent: Ensuring that the children and their families fully understand and agree to participate, with safeguards to protect their mental and emotional health.
The Larger Implications
If these children were able to serve as mediums, the implications would be profound. It would not only provide stronger evidence for the afterlife but also deepen our understanding of consciousness as something that transcends the brain. It would affirm the idea that communication is not bound by physicality—whether between individuals in the physical world or across the veil of death. Mediumship has been demonstrated to be true time and time again. But the accuracy of the autistics far exceeds what I’ve seen with most neurotypical people.
Ultimately, these children’s abilities challenge us to explore the boundaries of human potential and the nature of existence itself. They invite us to consider what might be possible if we approach the mysteries of life and death with curiosity, open-mindedness, and a deep respect for their extraordinary gifts.
The Rise of Autism: A Spiritual Perspective
Autism diagnoses have risen significantly over the past few decades. While many attribute this increase to heightened awareness and improved diagnostic tools, could there be a deeper, spiritual explanation for this phenomenon? Could more autistic children be coming into the world to teach us something profound about the nature of consciousness, communication, and connection?
The Causes of Autism: Material Perspectives
From a scientific standpoint, the rise in autism is often linked to factors such as increased awareness, changes in diagnostic criteria, and potential environmental influences. Genetic predispositions, prenatal factors, and even the modern environment’s complexity are all frequently discussed as contributing causes. While these explanations are valid and supported by research, they leave unaddressed the spiritual implications of this phenomenon.
A Spiritual Mission?
Autistic children—especially those with extraordinary abilities —may be offering us a glimpse into a higher purpose. Their unique ways of perceiving and interacting with the world challenge our assumptions about intelligence, communication, and the boundaries of human potential. Could their presence be part of a larger spiritual mission to expand humanity’s understanding of consciousness?
In many spiritual traditions, certain individuals are believed to come into the world to teach, heal, or guide humanity during pivotal times. We’ve heard of crystal children or starseed children. Those of us who have had children transition early in their lives often say our children showed extraordinary qualities, as if they were only here for a short period of time for a specific mission.
Autistic children, with their profound insights, telepathic abilities, and deep connections to others, might be part of this movement. Their lives invite us to reconsider what it means to be human and to embrace a more inclusive, expansive view of existence.
Lessons from Autism
The rise in autism may be highlighting critical lessons for humanity:
Rethinking Communication: Autistic children challenge us to explore non-verbal forms of interaction, such as telepathy and intuitive understanding, reminding us that communication is about connection, not just words.
Embracing Neurodiversity: Their presence encourages society to value all forms of intelligence and to create spaces where diverse ways of thinking and perceiving are celebrated.
Questioning Materialism: By defying materialist explanations for their abilities, they prompt us to look beyond the physical and to consider the interconnected, non-local nature of consciousness.
A Call to Awareness
If we view the rise in autism through a spiritual lens, it becomes a call to awareness. These children are not here to fit into conventional molds but to expand them. They ask us to slow down, listen differently, and see the world with a more compassionate and curious perspective.
The Future They Invite
Autistic children may be pointing us toward a future where inclusivity, empathy, and spiritual exploration take center stage. Their gifts challenge humanity to shed outdated paradigms and to embrace a world where connection transcends the physical and the verbal. By paying attention to what these children are teaching us, we may find ourselves better equipped to navigate the complexities of life, consciousness, and our shared existence.
Perhaps the rise in autism is not merely a challenge to be solved but an opportunity to evolve—a chance to learn from some of the most extraordinary teachers among us.

I had the honor of speaking with Laura Hirsch, an author and advocate whose journey through profound loss and spiritual discovery is truly inspiring. Laura shared the heart-wrenching experience of losing her first husband, Darren, in a tragic car accident when she was just 27. This devastating event led her to explore mediumship and spiritual connections, providing her with comfort and a renewed understanding of life and death. citeturn0search0
Years later, Laura faced another challenge when her son, Trevor, was diagnosed with regressive autism, becoming nonverbal. Determined to connect with her son, Laura discovered the Spelling to Communicate (S2C) method, which enabled Trevor to express his thoughts and reveal his profound spiritual insights. A particularly moving revelation was Trevor's communication that Darren, the father he had never met, was one of his spiritual guides, watching over and protecting him. This profound connection brought Laura solace, knowing that her late husband's presence continued to influence and support their lives. citeturn0search0
Through S2C, Trevor also unveiled his abilities in music and telepathic communication with animals, challenging common misconceptions about nonverbal autism. Laura's unwavering belief in her son's potential and her openness to spiritual exploration highlight the transformative power of love, persistence, and faith in the unseen connections that bind us. citeturn0search0
Their story serves as a testament to the enduring bonds that transcend physical existence and the remarkable ways in which communication can manifest beyond traditional means. Laura's journey offers hope and inspiration to families navigating similar challenges, emphasizing the importance of exploring alternative communication methods and remaining open to the spiritual dimensions of our experiences. citeturn0search0

Gina Gayle Gray
I had the privilege of speaking with Gina Gayle Gray, an Emotional Health Coach, Counselor, and Oracle, who has transformed her profound grief into a mission of healing and empowerment. Gina's journey began with the heart-wrenching loss of her 23-year-old son, Spencer, whose life and subsequent transition became a catalyst for her spiritual awakening and purpose.
Spencer, born with unique challenges that rendered him non-verbal, communicated through subtle cues and music, teaching Gina the profound art of 'listening to the silence.' After his passing, Gina continues to feel Spencer's presence, receiving messages through dreams, songs, and telepathic impressions, reinforcing their unbreakable bond. These experiences led her to develop the '40-Day Journey Back To Me' program and retreats at Casa Grace in Mexico, designed to help others heal emotional wounds and reconnect with their inner selves. citeturn0search0
Gina emphasizes that grief, while deeply painful, can be a transformative teacher guiding us toward grace—an acceptance and understanding that emerge through healing. By embracing practices like meditation, journaling, and energy healing techniques such as Biofield Tuning and Emotion Code, she assists individuals in releasing trapped emotions, fostering resilience, and rediscovering joy. Her story is a testament to the enduring connections that transcend physical existence and the potential for personal growth through embracing and processing grief.
Conclusion: Expanding Our Horizons
The stories of these extraordinary autistic children are not just fascinating anecdotes; they are profound invitations to reconsider our understanding of reality. Their abilities—to communicate telepathically, connect with others across great distances, and even hint at truths beyond the physical—challenge us to expand our view of what it means to be human.
From exploring the non-local nature of consciousness to redefining intelligence and embracing new paradigms of connection, these children push the boundaries of science and spirituality alike. They remind us that communication is not confined to words and that intelligence is far more diverse and expansive than we often recognize. Their presence in the world today, amid rising autism diagnoses, may even point to a greater purpose—to guide humanity toward a more inclusive, empathetic, and interconnected future.
But beyond the science and philosophy lies a deeper lesson: these children show us the power of being present, curious, and open to the extraordinary. They teach us to listen not just with our ears but with our hearts, to see beyond the surface, and to embrace the mysteries of life with wonder and humility.
As we move forward, let us honor their gifts and their teachings. Let us explore the vast potential they reveal within us all, and let us approach the unknown with courage, compassion, and an unwavering belief in the extraordinary possibilities of existence. Perhaps, in learning from them, we will find ourselves one step closer to understanding the true nature of consciousness and the infinite connections that bind us all.
