"What if everything you were taught about God, heaven, and the afterlife was wrong? What if, instead of judgment and fear, you discovered a spirituality rooted in love, healing, and connection?"
For many of us raised in fear-based religious traditions, faith was more about avoiding punishment than experiencing divine love. We were taught that questioning doctrine was dangerous, that doubt was sinful, and that God’s love was conditional.
But what happens when you start questioning those beliefs? Are you lost—or are you finally finding your way home?
In this thought-provoking conversation, I sit down with David Hulse, a kindred soul whose journey mirrors mine. Like me, he transitioned from a fear-based religious upbringing to a love-centered spirituality that embraces inclusivity, healing, and personal transformation. His path—from fundamentalist Christianity to becoming a spiritual teacher and healer—offers deep wisdom for anyone navigating their awakening.
David Hulse’s Journey: From Fundamentalist Christianity to Spiritual Awakening
David was raised in a deeply religious environment, immersed in Pentecostal Christianity from a young age. His upbringing was filled with devotion, but it was also steeped in fear—the fear of hell, of sin, and of stepping outside the rigid boundaries of religious dogma.
Like many of us raised in similar traditions, David’s faith was based on rules and consequences rather than love and freedom. But deep within, he felt something was missing.
That longing for something greater led him on a transformative path that would challenge everything he once believed.
A Life-Changing Experience at 17
David’s awakening began with a powerful, mystical experience at the age of 17—an encounter that shattered his previous understanding of God. In a moment of deep surrender, he felt an overwhelming presence of divine love, a force far greater than the fear-based teachings he had grown up with.
That moment planted the seeds of a spiritual revolution within him. It set him on a path of seeking truth beyond religious dogma and embracing a spirituality that is not about fear but about love, healing, and connection.
The Power of Sound, Frequency & Vibration in Awakening
One of the most fascinating aspects of David’s journey is his discovery of the spiritual power of sound and frequency.
He noticed something profound during his early experiences in different religious settings: how music, chanting, and frequency could shift consciousness. In some churches, he felt a lifeless, mechanical approach to worship. But in others—particularly in the African American churches he visited—he experienced a powerful, transformative energy in the music and rhythm.
This insight led him to explore the science of sound and vibration—and how they can awaken higher consciousness, heal emotional wounds, and align with divine energy.
Science is now confirming what ancient wisdom has long known: sound is not just a tool for worship—it’s a tool for healing.
Universal Reconciliation: Does Everyone Return to God?
One of the most significant shifts in David’s spiritual journey was embracing universal reconciliation—the idea that every soul ultimately returns to God.
This challenges the traditional belief in eternal punishment—a doctrine that has caused immense fear and suffering for countless people.
Like many of us (ME), David was taught that salvation was conditional—that only those who followed a specific religious path could be “saved.” But as he deepened his spiritual understanding, he saw a much more loving, inclusive vision of God.
💡 If God is love, then how could divine love ever abandon or condemn anyone?
Universal reconciliation suggests that all souls—no matter their background, choices, or beliefs—are ultimately reunited with divine love. It aligns with the deeper, hidden wisdom in scripture, as well as with near-death experiences and spiritual revelations from various traditions.
This perspective changes not only how we see God but also how we see ourselves and each other. It moves us from judgment to compassion, from fear to love.
Releasing Earthbound Spirits: The Story of Oral Roberts’ Son
One of the most remarkable experiences David shares is about helping release the spirit of Oral Roberts’ son.
For those unfamiliar, Oral Roberts was a famous Pentecostal evangelist. His son, who struggled with personal battles, tragically took his own life in a hotel room in West Palm Beach, Florida.
David had a spontaneous spiritual experience in which he felt he was used as a conduit to help free the spirit of Oral Roberts’ son, who was being held back by the beliefs of his family and religious community.
This experience revealed a powerful truth:
💡 Our beliefs don’t just affect us in life—they can follow us beyond death.
Fear-based religious teachings—particularly those that condemn certain people—can create spiritual barriers that prevent souls from fully transitioning.
David’s experience highlights the importance of releasing fear-based conditioning—both for ourselves and for those who have passed on.
How to Shift from Fear-Based Faith to Love-Based Spirituality
If you’ve ever struggled with religious trauma, fear-based teachings, or the pressure to conform to rigid beliefs, know this: you are not alone.
Here are some steps to transition from fear-based faith to a love-centered spirituality:
✨ Question everything – It’s okay to doubt and deconstruct your beliefs. Truth withstands questioning.
✨ Reconnect with your inner knowing – Spirituality is about direct experience, not just inherited beliefs.
✨ Explore wisdom from multiple traditions – There is truth in many spiritual paths.
✨ Release fear-based conditioning – God is not waiting to punish you. Divine love is unconditional.
✨ Embrace love, not fear – Spirituality should bring freedom, peace, and joy, not shame and control.
